After operationalising the first two squadrons of the long-range air defense system S-400 air defense system, the Indian Air Force is soon going to conduct its first in-country firing. Senior defense officials gave information about this. He told that the Indian forces had fired the missile system of Russian origin during the test in Russia. But it could not be fired in India.
Defense officials said it would soon be tested in the country. The missile will target a fast-moving aerial target.
India has deployed S-400 missile system
India has already deployed its first two missile system squadrons at different locations from where they can cover the Ladakh sector as well as the Chicken Neck Corridor in West Bengal. Officials said that the first squadron has been deployed in Punjab. From here it will be able to cover the border with Pakistan as well as the northern and western regions. This system of missiles equipped with different ranges can eliminate enemy ballistic and cruise missiles, fighter jets and unmanned aerial vehicles flying at a distance of up to 400 km.
There is a deal to get five consignments
This deal of S-400 missile system between India and Russia is worth more than Rs 35,000 crore. Under this deal, India is to acquire five squadrons of defense missiles from Russia in three years. Also, the delivery of all the five consignments is expected to be completed by the end of the next financial year.
