Allu Aravind & Dil Raju Reportedly Planning A Two Hero Film Each By Bringing A Bollywood & A Tollywood Star Together

Over the last few years, the lines between languages and industries has blurred in context with cinema. Globally, a Korean film Parasite won an Oscar for Best Film, whereas in India, a film like Baahubali still holds the record of the highest grossing film of all time in the country. I have really enjoyed the merging of the cultures, be it through remakes of regional films or the mingling of artists across languages. Today, there are so many pan-Indian films being made, and to add to that, producers Allu Aravind and Dil Raju are planning one more unique step in that direction.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, both Raju and Aravind respectively are planning to mount a massive two hero film each by roping in A-Listers from Bollywood and Tollywood.

A source close to the development shared:

“The idea is to reach out to every remote corner of the country by getting a top name from Bollywood and a top name from Tollywood together in a feature film. The subjects in development by both the producers are in the big scale action-drama space.”

But both Aravind and Raju are making these projects at their individual level and not in collaboration with each other.

The source added:

“The films are being developed as proper cross-cultural films. While Pan India films so far have been driven by the southern stars, this time around, the idea is to make a subject that justifies the presence of two giants in equal proportions. One expects an update on these projects once the scripts are locked as all the developments have been kept hush hush as of now. A team of southern writers are working on these ambitious projects, and only once the basic idea and script is locked will the films proceed to the other aspects.”

After seeing the success of pan-Indian films like Baahubali and KGF, I am sure that this step will not only bring the industries closer, but will also break several box-office records. With the boom of OTT medium, the audience is no longer alien to regional content, and with the popularity of stars now crossing the boundaries of their industries, it would surely be a spectacle to witness this union and I am pretty excited for that.
