Delhi: Now government schools will have 220 days of studies, affidavit will have to be given, academic calendar for 2023-24 released

Government, government-aided and private schools in the capital will conduct studies for 220 days in the upcoming academic session 2023-24. The Directorate of Education has asked the schools to give an affidavit in this regard. For this, the directorate has also sent the format of the affidavit to the schools.

Along with this, the Directorate has released the academic calendar and has also released the dates of summer, autumn and winter vacations. All schools have been instructed to comply with them. The new academic session in Delhi schools is to start from April 1, 2023. Earlier, the Directorate of Education has issued a circular to the schools asking them to compulsorily conduct at least 220 days of education in the schools.

Citing the Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009, it has been said that every recognized school will have to follow the minimum number of working days for upper primary classes in an academic year. Along with this, the calendar for other holidays has also been issued before the start of the academic session 2023-24.

Accordingly, the upcoming summer vacations will be from May 11 to June 30. In this, June 28, 29 and 30 will be working days for teachers. Autumn vacations will be from 20 October to 23 October. While the winter vacations will be from January 01, 2024, which will run till January 15.
