The Congress government of Himachal Pradesh has given a shock to the public of expensive diesel before the oath of the ministers. Diesel has become costlier by Rs 3 per liter in the state from Saturday night. The Tax and Excise Department has increased the VAT on diesel from Saturday night. VAT on diesel has been increased from Rs 4.40 per liter to Rs 7.40. Diesel in Shimla has now been priced at Rs 85.93 per liter from Rs 82.92 per litre.
