After three years, actor Salman Khan’s film ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (KKBKKJ)’ is releasing on Eid this year. His last release on Eid was ‘Bharat’ which released in the year 2019. Meanwhile, two years ago during Kovid, one of his films ‘Radhe Your Most Wanted Bhai’ was released directly on OTT platform along with some theaters on Eid on May 13. Wanted (2009)
Before the film ‘Wanted’, Salman Khan’s career was going downhill, but ‘Wanted’ not only proved to be a lifeline for his career, but this film also gave Salman Khan tremendous success. Since then, Salman Khan’s films have been releasing continuously on Eid only. Only in the year 2013, none of his films were released on Eid. ‘Wanted’ was a remake of the South film ‘Pokiri’. The film ‘Wanted’ was directed by Prabhu Deva. The action avatar of Salman Khan in this film was liked by the audience. The film starred Salman Khan as an undercover police officer and also featured Ayesha Takia, Prakash Raj, Mahesh Manjrekar and Vinod Khanna in lead roles. The film released on 18 September 2009 and had a box office collection of Rs 60.24 crore.
Dabangg (2010)
After the film ‘Wanted’, Salman Khan appeared in the character of Desi Police Inspector in ‘Dabangg’. A different style of Salman Khan in the character of Chulbul Pandey was well received. The film was produced by Salman Khan’s brother Arbaaz Khan and the film’s director was Anurag Kashyap’s brother Anubhav Kashyap. Apart from Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Sonu Sood, Arbaaz Khan, Vinod Khanna and Mahesh Manjrekar were in lead roles in the film. Sonakshi Sinha debuted with this film. Bodyguard (2011)
Actor Salman Khan’s film ‘Bodyguard’ was a remake of the Malayalam film of the same name. The film made in Malayalam was released in the year 2010. The film ‘Bodyguard’ was directed by Siddique who was the director of the original Malayalam film. Apart from Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Hazel Keech, Raj Babbar, Mahesh Manjrekar were in lead roles in this film. Aditya Pancholi and Karisma Kapoor did cameos in this film. After ‘Wanted’, ‘Dabangg’, Salman Khan completes hat-trick of hits on Eid with ‘Body Guard’. The film released on 31 August 2011 and had a box office collection of Rs 148.86 crore.
Ek Tha Tiger( 2012)
Salman Khan’s film Ek Tha Tiger was an action spy thriller film released on 15 August 2012 on Eid. The film was produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films and directed by Kabir Khan. In this film, Salman Khan played the role of Tiger, a spy of the Government of India’s intelligence agency RAW, while Katrina Kaif was seen in the role of an agent of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI in this film. The film also starred Ranvir Shorey, Girish Karnad, Roshan Seth and Gavi Chahal in key roles. The box office collection of this film has been Rs 198.78 crore.
