Disney’s Encanto is a film that not only entertained in the theaters but also took over audiences’ radio stations and devices with its incredible songs.
For weeks and weeks, you couldn’t go anywhere without hearing a song from the film, and although I listened to the songs at length, I didn’t take the time to take in the lyrics of some of these fantastic songs due to trying to keep my sanity.
So I took a journey back after listening to “Dos Orguitas” and broke down my favorite lyrics from the songs of Encanto.
15.
“Colombia, te quiero tanto / Que siempre me enamora tu encanto.”
14.
“I can’t move the mountains / I can’t make the flowers bloom / I can’t take another night up in my room / Waiting on a miracle.”
13.
“I would move the mountains / Make new trees and flowers grow / Someone please just let me know, where do I go? / I am waiting on a miracle.”
12.
“Under the surface / Was Hercules ever like, ‘Yo, I don’t wanna fight Cerberus’?”
11.
“I move mountains, I move churches / And I glow, ’cause I know what my worth is”
10.
“I make perfect, practiced poses / So much hides behind my smile / What could I do if I just grew what I was feeling in the moment?”
9.
“What could I do if I just knew it didn’t need to be perfect? / It just needed to be, and they let me be.”
8.
“All I know are the blossoms grow / But it’s awesome to see how you rise.”
7.
“Give it to your sister, your sister’s older / Give her all the heavy things we can’t shoulder / Who am I if I can’t run with the ball?”
6.
“It’s a heavy lift, with a gift so humbling / Always left Abuela and the family fumbling / Grappling with prophecies they couldn’t understand / Do you understand?”
5.
“Oh, and that’s my mom, Julieta, here’s her deal / Whoa, the truth is she can heal you with a meal / Whoa, her recipes are remedies for real.”
4.
“We don’t talk about Bruno, no, no, no! / We don’t talk about Bruno…but…”
3.
“You’re more than just your gift / And I’m sorry I held on too tight / Just so afraid I’d lose you, too.”
2.
“Bruno walks in with a mischievous grin — / Thunder! / You telling this story or am I? / I’m sorry, mi vida, go on…”
1.
“Ay, oruguitas / Don’t you hold on too tight / Both of you know / It’s your time to grow / To fall apart, to reunite.”
