So, what exactly do we know about Season 2 so far? Let’s get into the details.
To start, before audiences even got a chance to stream the pilot episode, a second season was greenlit in June 2022.
“When I decided to adapt ‘Summer’ for television, I knew we’d need more than one season to honor the story we are telling,” said author Jenny Han.
Just one month later, the cast was back on set and already hard at work filming new episodes as seen in this Twitter post.

While no official plot details have been confirmed as of yet, the Season 1 finale ended with the heartbreaking reveal of Susannah’s breast cancer returning and her decision to undergo an experimental trial.
We’ll also probably get to see how Belly and Conrad’s relationship continues after she ended up choosing him in the finale episode.
Series alums like Lola Tung, Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno will be reprising their roles, but there will be a few new faces joining the cast.
In late August 2022, Elsie Fisher and Kyra Sedgwick were confirmed to have recurring roles in the Amazon Prime Video series. Fisher has been seen in Barry, Eighth Grade, and My Best Friend’s Exorcism whereas Sedgwick is best-known for The Closer, Phenomenon, and The Edge of Seventeen.
Both Fisher and Sedgwick celebrated the announcement by posting the same IG clip on August 31.
It’s still TBD when Season 2 will finally drop, but most are speculating it’ll be sometime in 2023. Until then, we can keep dreaming of Cousins Beach all year long by rewatching the show from the very beginning.
