Dense fog has derailed the rail operations. Over 237 trains were affected on Tuesday. Because of this many trains had to be cancelled. 97 trains, including the Rajdhani, ran late by two to eight hours. Because of this, the passengers had to face a lot of trouble.

Due to severe cold and fog in North India, railway passengers are facing problems. The train is continuously running late. Because of this, passengers are getting tired not only on the train but also on the platforms of the stations waiting for the arrival of their respective trains. On the other hand, due to the arrival of the morning train in the evening, the working people are forced to spend one more day in the hotel.

The delayed trains mainly included Gorakhdham Express which arrived late by more than 10 hours, Andhra Pradesh Express by more than six hours. Whereas, Malda Town-Delhi Express seven hours, Kaifiyat Express six hours, Brahmaputra five hours, Rewa six hours, Poorva China hour, Prayagraj-New Delhi two hours, Raxaul-Anand Vihar three hours, Padmavat two hours, Malwa Superfast 2:20 hours, Prayagraj Humsafar three hours, Darbhanga-New Delhi Clone three hours, Purushottam three hours late at their destination stations.

Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager, Northern Railway, said in the review meeting that the challenges in rail operations increase due to dense fog during winter. He directed all the divisions to take all necessary steps for proper functioning of the signal system.
